Whistle while you wake

There is something completely anti-zen about using a kettle that whistles when it boils.

An early Monday morning, just dropped the kiddo off at school in the rain, time for a nice warm relaxing cup of tea can start out with something the very opposite of what the purpose of the boiling water is for. The shrieking call back to the kitchen. But maybe, just maybe, it is the perfect starting note to the process. Nothing like a wretchedly horrible whistling sound to clear your mind… to put you into a panic induced empty headed state so very much more ready for that cup of tea and moment of relaxation.

Happy Monday… May your starting points be briefly blasting followed by warm comfort.

(Sidenote did winter even happen this year?)

    1. oh that would be unbearable!
i suppose, i Could start shopping for a quieter kettle, but then id probably never remember it was plugged in and id never get my tea… which is why i keep the blasting blasted thing closed now, i need Something to remind me of what i was doing πŸ˜€

  1. Winter has been minimal but out week of forecasts with highs in the high teens to low 20s….with an evil low wind chill….tell me that whole snow may be scarce old man winter is still hanging around. I’d rather a read winter than this. Can it be spring yet?

  2. Oh….and I’m jealous of the kettle. I don’t own one. My hot water for tea is all microwaved. I always wanted a teapot/kettle, but Hubby always says why waste the money when k can Nuke it just as well! πŸ˜‰

    1. ive been known to nuke water a couple of times but there must have been some reason for it. i feel like it is different so i feel for your yearning! and if it helps plea your cause, i got mine at a yard sale for meer cents πŸ˜€ it is versatile enough that if i ever were to go camping again i could bring it for over the fire! maybe you can talk him into it for that reason, altho it takes a Lot of soap to unblacken a kettle, so i dont think i would do it really πŸ˜€

also february just sent us a great big Just Kidding in form of 15 centimetres of snow πŸ˜€ and i have sonshine home sick with cough and fever, so that kettle will be used plenty today πŸ˜€ Stay Warm!!!

      1. Sadly… Being the camping fiends that we are… We already have an over the fire coffee pot. Can’t use one. I may have to keep my eyes open for one anyways. “No honey…I have no idea where that teapot came from. I thought you got it for me as a surprise! ” *evil sneaky laugh*

Snow if Feb here wouldn’t surprise me. Heck…. Snow in May has happened in good ole WI. Snow in July wouldn’t surprise me with how random this States weather can be. We may not have more snow… But we have highs only in the 20s and below zero windchills. Yuck. Now I want some tea!

      2. it sounds like tea is very much the thing for you today! i hope you found warmth lasting!!!
maybe a tea fairy will just magically leave one on your door step! then you can get into tea pots;)
        Much warmness to you!

      3. Tea fairy… sounds like my kind of fairy! Is there a wine fairy too? I’d really like a visit from her! πŸ˜‰

      4. THERE WAS A DRINK FAIRY THE OTHER NIGHT, But it turned out she got off the elevator on the wrong floor! There was a knock at the door at 830 pm and when i opened it a girl shoved a bottle of wine at me πŸ˜€ if i wasnt too busy trying to convince the boy to get into his pajamas i might have grabbed it from her and slammed the door. COME BACK WINE FAIRY!
